City of Darwin, Lyons Ward by-election: Voting commenced

Voting commenced for the City of Darwin, Lyons Ward by-election on Saturday 26 August.

780 votes were received at the Darwin Entertainment Centre on the first day of early voting.

Voting for the City of Darwin, Lyons Ward by-election is available at the following times and locations:

• Early voting at Darwin Entertainment Centre
  • Monday 28 August to Thursday 31 August - 8am to 5pm
  • Friday 1 September - 8am to 6pm
• Election day voting at Darwin Entertainment Centre and Parap Primary School
  • Saturday 2 September - 8am to 6pm

Postal vote applications remain open for electors that are unable to vote in-person location, with applications closing:

• Overseas postal vote applications - 6pm tomorrow
• Local postal vote applications - 6pm on Thursday 31 August

The NT Electoral Commissioner, Iain Loganathan is reminding electors to make sure their vote counts in the City of Darwin, Lyons Ward by-election.

“I encourage Lyons Ward electors to plan where and when they will vote to ensure they have a say on who represents their community within the City of Darwin” said Mr Loganathan.

Voting in City of Darwin, Lyons Ward by-election is compulsory.
