Local government areas

An independent local government representation review committee will review local government boundaries not more than 10 months after election day for a general election.

The committee consists of:

• the Electoral Commissioner
• the Surveyor-General
• the CEO of the Local Government Association of the Northern Territory (LGANT)
  • The chairperson of the committee is the CEO of LGANT.

The review process includes consultation with councils, stakeholders and the public to help determine the final representation structures for each council area, including ward boundaries, for the next general election.
