The NT Electoral Commission has today declared 2 candidates for the West Arnhem Regional Council, Gunbalanya Ward by-election.
At 1pm today, candidate positions on the ballot paper were randomly drawn at the NT Electoral Commission office in Darwin.
Candidates for the Gunbalanya Ward by-election, in ballot paper order are as follows:
There is one vacancy for positon of councillor in the Gunbualanya Ward by-election.
Mobile voting teams will be visiting Gunbalanya communities from Friday 10 March with voting in both the Gunbalanya Ward by-election and the Legislative Assembly Division of Arafura by-election being run concurrently.
“Gunbalanya electors are required to vote in both the local government and Legislative Assembly by-elections, providing concurrent voting services will be more convenient for electors” said the NT Electoral Commissioner Iain Loganathan.
“With the voting period fast approaching, I would like to remind Gunbalanya electors to plan when and where they will be voting. For electors who are unable to attend a voting service I encourage them to apply now for a postal vote pack for the Gunbalanya Ward by-election and Arafura by-election” Mr Loganathan said.

Voting in the Gunbalanya Ward by-election and Arafura by-election is compulsory.
