2025 Local Government Supplementary Elections: Nominations closing soon and ballot draw details

Considering a leadership role in your community?

Nominations for the 2025 Local Government Supplementary Elections are closing on Thursday 6 November 2025 at 12:00 pm. Late nominations cannot be accepted.

Elections are being held to fill vacancies in the following Council wards:

• Central Desert Regional Council - Akityarre Ward (1 vacancy)
• MacDonnell Regional Council - Rodinga Ward (1 vacancy)
• Roper Gulf Regional Council - Yugul Mangi Ward (1 vacancy)
• West Arnhem Regional Council - Gunbalanya Ward (1 vacancy)
• West Arnhem Regional Council - Kakadu Ward (1 vacancy)
• Litchfield Council - North Ward (1 vacancy)

Declaration of candidates and draw for position on ballot papers

Candidates, media and members of the public are invited to attend the declaration of nominations event to be held on Friday, 7 November 2025 commencing at 12:00 noon.

The declaration of nominations and draw to determine the candidate order on the ballot papers will proceed in alphabetical order by council.  The draw will be conducted using a random number generator.

Those interested in attending can participate via the following options:
