Counting has concluded - 2025 Local Government Elections

The results for all mayoral elections following the manual distribution of preferences are available on the NTEC website Results | NTEC.

The results of the mayoral elections are as follows:

• Alice Springs Town Council – Asta Hill elected at count 6
• City of Darwin – Peter Styles elected at count 12
• Katherine Town Council – Joanna Holden elected at count 6
• Litchfield Shire Council – Rachael Wright elected at count 5
• City of Palmerston Council – Athina Pascoe-Bell elected at count 3

The manual distribution of preferences process for mayoral elections continued under scrutiny late into the evening and early morning due to the large number of candidate exclusions required for a candidate to achieve the necessary quota to be elected. 

The results of the multi vacancy elections will be published on the NTEC website by 10:00am on Saturday, 6 September.

The Declaration of Results for the 2025 Local Government Elections is scheduled for
10:00am on Monday, 8 September 2025.

Candidates, media representatives and members of the public are invited to attend the Declaration of Results event.
