Declarations of Results - 2025 Local Government Elections

A declaration event was held in Darwin announcing the results and candidates declared elected for following councils:

• Coomalie Community Government Council
• East Arnhem Regional Council
• Katherine Town Council
• Litchfield Council
• MacDonnell Regional Council
• City of Palmerston
• Roper Gulf Regional Council
• Tiwi Island Regional Council
• Victoria Daly Regional Council
• Wagait Shire Council
• West Arnhem Regional Council
• West Daly Regional Council

NT Electoral Commissioner Kirsten Kelly said "I would like to thank all electoral participants across the Territory, including candidates and voters for participating in the electoral process”.

I would also like to acknowledge the dedication of NTEC staff, electoral experts, shared service providers, and the many hundreds of casual election staff who supported the delivery of the 2025 Local Government Elections.

The contribution of local government councils and the Local Government Association of the NT in raising awareness about the elections in the community is also acknowledged.

All candidates are reminded that campaign disclosures returns are due on Saturday 1 November 2025. Candidates are required to disclose any donations and loans received for campaigning for the election for the period of 1 July 2024 to 22 September 2025.
