2026 City of Darwin Chan Ward By-election: Nominations closing

Nominations for the City of Darwin Chan Ward By-election close Thursday 14 May 2026 at 12noon. Late nominations cannot be accepted.

Following the close of nominations, the candidates for the Ward will be declared and a draw to determine the order of candidates on the ballot paper will take place. The draw will be determined using a random number generator.

Candidates, media and members of the public are invited to attend the declaration of nominations event commencing at 1pm.

Those wishing to attend can do so via the following options:

• In-person: NTEC, Level 3, TCG Centre, 80 Mitchell St, Darwin City
• Microsoft Teams: Online event stream

Media representatives wishing to attend are kindly asked to contact the NTEC Manager Public Awareness by 10am on 14 May 2026 and advise of their attendance.
