Counting in the City of Darwin Chan Ward By-election has finished for the night.
The results following the initial count of first preference votes (in ballot paper order) are as follows:
This evening, votes cast during the early voting period, on election day and returned and admitted postal votes were counted.
529 postal votes remain outstanding and must be received by the NT Electoral Commission (NTEC) before 12pm on Friday 12 June.
21 declaration votes have been issued and following a verification process may be admitted to the count.
The 13 day count period has commenced and will continue until the deadline to receive postal votes, following which the final counts and distribution of preferences will be conducted.
On Monday 1 June, a fresh scrutiny will commence under scrutiny, with all ballot papers counted tonight reviewed at the NTEC office scrutiny centre.
The official declaration of election results will take place at 10am, Monday 15 June.
