Voting in the City of Darwin Chan Ward By-election has closed and counting has commenced.
Today, 2190 votes were cast at the election day voting centre located at the Nightcliff High School, gymnasium.
During the early voting period 3157 votes were cast at the early voting centre at the Rapid Creek Business Village, and mobile voting service provided at the Darwin public and private hospitals. 946 postal votes were issued for the Chan Ward by-election.
Results will be progressively published during the evening on the NT Electoral Commission (NTEC) website.
Counting is being held at the Nightcliff High School scrutiny centre where election day votes are being counted and the scrutiny centre at the NTEC office where votes cast during early voting and postal votes returned and admitted will be counted.
The 13-day count period has now commenced and will continue until the deadline for the NTEC to receive postal votes which is before 12 noon Friday 12 June.
Candidates can appoint scrutineers to observe the count process.
