It is compulsory to vote in all elections in the Northern Territory.

A by-election has been called for the MacDonnell Regional Council Ward of Luritja Pintubi, and the West Arnhem Regional Council Ward of Kakadu.

Eligible electors in these division of Wards must be correctly enrolled to vote before the close of roll for the election.

The close of roll is 5pm on Thursday 2 April 2026.

The Australian Electoral Commission maintains the Northern Territory Electoral Roll.
