Joel Bowden has won the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly division of Johnston by-election held on 29 February following the distribution of preferences today.
Following the distribution Mr Bowden gained a total number of 1731 votes ahead of second placed candidate Steven Klose who finished with a total of 1561 votes.
The distribution of preferences was preceded by a count of the remaining five declaration votes, three Darwin urban votes (votes cast at Royal Darwin Hospital) and 59 postal votes.

The result of the election will be officially declared at the NTEC office on Level 3 of the TCG Centre, 80 Mitchell Street Darwin at 10:00am on Monday 16 March.
