In accordance with the Electoral Commission’s recount policy, any division with a margin of less than 100 votes will be recounted.
This involves a full recount of all first preference votes and a check of informal ballot papers.
This will be followed by a two candidate preferred count. All disputed ballot papers identified will be determined by the Electoral Commissioner, including those in Araluen, Barkly and Namatjira.
At close of business today, six divisions have a margin under 100 votes.
Therefore, a recount will be conducted for the following divisions. One table per division will be in operation at each counting centre. Candidates are entitles to have one scrutineer per counting table, per division.
