Apply for postal vote now for 2021 Local Government Elections

The Northern Territory Electoral Commission is urging electors who wish to cast a postal vote in the upcoming 2021 Local Government Elections to apply as soon as possible.

Electoral Commissioner Iain Loganathan said that the earlier people apply for a postal vote the earlier it will be sent to them.

“To ensure that postal vote ballot papers are included in the election count they must be returned to the NTEC before 12 noon on Friday 10 September,” Mr Loganathan said.

“However, electors must also have completed their vote and signed the declaration section before 6pm on election day, 28 August.

“Following the declaration of nomination of candidates on Friday 6 August, postal voting packs will be sent to electors in the first mail out on Monday 9 August.

“The only way to make sure you receive your postal vote pack in plenty of time is to apply for your postal vote now,” Mr Loganathan said.
