Alice Springs Town Council by-election: Early voting now open

Early voting is now open for the Alice Springs Town Council by-election.

Early voting for the by-election is available for one week at the Andy McNeill room, Alice Springs Town Council during the following times:

  • Saturday 22 October - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Monday 24 October to Thursday 27 October - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Friday 28 October - 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Election day is Saturday 29 October with six voting centre locations available including, the Andy McNeill room, Blatherskite Park, Braitling Primary School, Centralian Secondary College, Gillen Primary School and Living Waters Lutheran School.

Postal vote applications remain open for electors that are unable to vote at an in-person location. Applications close on the following times:

  • Overseas postal vote applications - Tuesday 25 October, 6.00pm
  • Local postal vote applications  - Thursday 27 October, 6.00pm

The Acting NT Electoral Commissioner, Kirsten Kelly is reminding electors to make sure their vote counts in the Alice Springs Town Council by-election.

“The 2021 Local Government election in Alice Springs saw a final margin of only two votes, this highlights the difference that your vote can make in an election”.

“The more people that vote, the more our councils and governing bodies become representative of our community,” Kirsten Kelly said.

Voting in Alice Springs Town Council by-election is compulsory.
