Alice Springs Town Council by-election: Nominations Open

The Northern Territory Electoral Commission has today announced that nominations for potential candidates for the Alice Springs Town Council by-election are now open.

There is one vacancy for position of councillor in the Alice Springs Town Council by-election.

Nominations will close at 12 noon on Friday 14 October, no late nominations will be accepted.

The NT Electoral Commission together with Alice Springs Town Council will be hosting a Candidate Information Session on Wednesday 12 October from 12-1pm in the Andy McNeill Room.

The Acting NT Electoral Commissioner Kirsten Kelly is encouraging people considering nominating to attend the Candidate Information Session.

“I encourage all people who may be thinking about nominating to make themselves aware of their obligations rights and eligibility to become a candidate.”

"In addition to the Candidate Information Session, there are a number of resources available to potential candidates on the NT Electoral Commission website or from the Alice Springs Town Council office."

Voting in the Alice Springs Town Council by-election is compulsory.
