On Monday of this week, candidate Kim Farrar was officially declared the winner of the City of Darwin Waters Ward by-election on held on 27 August.
The last intake of postal votes for this by-election were added to the count at 12 noon on Friday 9 September.
At the end of this count, Ms Farrar had 3,114 votes out of a total of 6,082 formal votes, or 51.2%, and was therefore declared duly elected after gaining more than half of the first preference votes.
As such, a distribution of preferences was not required. The declaration of results for this by-election was held at the City of Darwin Civic Centre on Monday 12 August.
