Arafura by-election: Declaration of nominations

The NT Electoral Commission has today declared 3 candidates for the Arafura by-election.

At 2pm today, candidate positions’ on the ballot paper were drawn by a random number generator at the NT Electoral Commission Darwin office.

Candidates for the Arafura by-election, in order of the ballot paper draw are as follows:

• Leslie TUNGATALUM (Country Liberal Party of the Northern Territory)
• Manuel BROWN (Australian Labor Party NT Branch)
• Alan MIDDLETON (Federation Party Northern Territory)

Voting teams will be visiting Arafura communities from Monday 6 March to Saturday 18 March.

The NT Electoral Commissioner Iain Loganathan is encouraging Arafura electors to review the voting teams schedule to find their most convenient voting service.

“With election day fast approaching, I would like to remind Arafura electors to plan when and where they will be voting. For electors who are unable to attend a voting service I encourage them to apply now to receive a postal vote pack” Mr Loganathan said.
