City of Darwin, Lyons Ward by-election: Election day today

Today is the last day to vote in the City of Darwin, Lyons Ward by-election.

Voting is available from 8am to 6pm at the Darwin Entertainment Centre and Parap Primary School.

Currently, 3060 electors have voted in the Lyons Ward by-election.

The current turnout for this by-election is 24%. The NT Electoral Commissioner is encouraging voters who have not yet voted to make their vote count by attending a voting centre before 6pm today.  

Postal voters are reminded that they must complete their postal vote by 6pm today and return their postal vote to the NT Electoral Commission by 12 noon on Friday 15 September.

The NT Electoral Commissioner, Iain Loganathan, noted that while there is still opportunity to vote the current turnout is low compared to the 2020 by-election for the Lyons Ward which had a turnout of 56%.

"Today is the final opportunity for electors to ensure their voices are heard in the Lyons Ward by-election. I ask all electors in Lyons Ward who have not yet cast their votes to make their way to either Parap Primary School or the Darwin Entertainment Centre before 6pm today," said Iain Loganathan.
