Katherine Town Council by-election: Voting commenced

Voting has commenced for the Katherine Town Council by-election.

Early voting is available at the Katherine Central Shopping Centre during the following times:

• Saturday 8 July - 9am to 3pm
• Monday 10 July to Thursday 13 July - 8am to 5pm
• Friday 14 July - 8am to 6pm

Early voting is also available at the NT Electoral Commission Darwin office during the following times:

• Monday 10 July to Thursday 13 July - 8am to 5pm
• Friday 14 July – 8am to 6pm

The NT Electoral Commission’s mobile voting team is travelling to Binjari and Rockhole on Thursday 13 July to conduct voting services.

Postal vote applications remain open for electors that are unable to vote at an in-person location. Applications close on the following times:

• Overseas postal vote applications - 6pm on Tuesday 11 July
• Local postal vote applications - 6pm on Thursday 13 July

Election day for the Katherine Town Council by-election is on Saturday 15 July, voting will be available between 8am to 6pm at Katherine Central Shopping Centre, Katherine Civic Centre and Tindal Community Hall.

The NT Electoral Commissioner, Iain Loganathan is reminding electors to make sure their vote counts in the Katherine Town Council by-election.

“I encourage Katherine electors to plan where and when they will vote to ensure they have a say on who represents their community within the Katherine Town Council” said Mr Loganathan.

Voting in Katherine Town Council by-election is compulsory.
