The NT Electoral Commission has today completed a number of counts including recounts for the divisions of Barkly, Casuarina and Fannie Bay where the margins were less than 100. All results have been updated on the NTEC website.
A three-candidate preferred count was conducted for the division of Nightcliff. Following this count, the two candidates with the most preference votes were Natasha Fyles (ALP) and Kat McNamara (Greens).
The two-candidate preferred was then reset and a count was conducted. As a result of the two-candidate preferred count, the margin is now less than 100 votes and a recount for the division of Nightcliff will be conducted tomorrow at the Darwin Scrutiny Centre from 9.00am.
There will be no counting tomorrow in the Alice Springs scrutiny Centre.
The deadline for receipt of postal votes is 12.00 noon on Friday 6 September. The distribution of preferences will commence following the final postal vote count.
The declaration of results for the 2024 Territory Election will take place at 10.00am on Monday 9 September in Darwin at Alice Springs.
