The NT Electoral Commission (NTEC) has released the remote mobile voting schedule for the 2024 Territory Election.
The remote mobile voting schedule is designed to help remote voters know where and when voting services will be available, allowing them to plan accordingly.
Voters at the 2024 Territory election can cast their vote at any voting service location, even if they are visiting another community or regional centre.
The released schedule also supports electoral participants in their planning and logistics for the election.
NT Electoral Commissioner Kirsten Kelly said the remote mobile voting schedule was developed following feedback from stakeholders, discussions with a number of local authorities, and community engagement visits.
“The NTEC is dedicated to providing information to residents living in remote communities about the election and voting services that supports awareness and participation."
“Our efforts are focused on providing accessible voting services for all Territorian voters.”
“With 29% of Territory voters enrolled in the 7 remote divisions, mobile voting services will be provided in over 170 locations across the Territory,” Commissioner Kelly said.
The Territory covers a vast area of 1.35 million square kilometres, and the NTEC carefully plans to ensure delivery of voting services to remote locations during the two week early voting period.
Given the logistical complexities of reaching remote areas, the remote voting schedule may change, if this occurs notice will be provided to the public and impacted stakeholders.
The NTEC is currently finalising arrangements for some voting centre locations in communities.
Voters are encouraged to stay up to date by regularly checking the NTEC website for the latest updates on when and where they can vote. Information on voting locations and times can be found on the NTEC website.
