Applying for a postal vote

If you are unable to vote at a voting centre you can apply for a postal vote.

To apply for a postal vote you must complete the below form.

You can apply for an overseas postal vote by:

  • printing and submitting a postal application
  • contacting the NTEC via telephone (08) 8999 7655 or 1800 698 683

After hours, please email postalvote.ntec@nt.gov.au and a NTEC staff member will contact you in regard to your postal vote inquiry.

Postal vote applications are open now and all postal vote dispatches cease at 5pm Thursday 22 August 2024.

Once the declaration of nominations has occurred.

You must complete your postal vote ballot paper before 6:00 pm on election day.

Post your ballot paper, using the reply paid envelope, to the commission so it is received before 12:00 noon on the second Friday following election day.

You can also hand-deliver the envelope to:

  • an electoral official at any voting centre during opening hours
  • the NT Electoral Commission office.
