2025 Local Government Supplementary Elections: Candidates declared

A total of 12 nominations have been accepted to fill 6 vacancies across 5 local government councils. Following the declaration:

• Voters in the Litchfield Council North Ward, West Arnhem Regional Council Gunbalanya and Kakadu Wards are required to vote as the number of candidates declared exceeds the number of vacancies.
• Three elections were uncontested, with the number of candidates not exceeding the number of vacancies. These candidates have been declared elected, with voters in the MacDonnell Regional Council Rodinga Ward, Central Desert Regional Council Akityarre Ward and Roper Gulf Regional Council Yugul Mangi Ward not required to vote in this election.

Northern Territory Electoral Commissioner Kirsten Kelly said “Details of all candidates are now available on the NTEC website including candidates who have been declared elected and those contesting elections. The NT Electoral Commission has also updated the remote voting schedule following the declaration of nominations.”
