A single casual vacancy exists in the City of Darwin Chan Ward and a by-election is required to fill the vacancy.
There are 12,714 electors enrolled in the Chan Ward which includes the following suburbs:
Voters and prospective candidates for Chan Ward are encouraged to check their enrolment before the electoral roll closes at 5pm on 12 May.
Electors who would like to receive direct communications (SMS or email) from the NTEC where they are required to vote in the Territory, can include their contact detail with their enrolment.
Candidate nominations open Friday 8 May. Information about eligibility and the nomination process is available on the NTEC website.
Early voting will be available for 6 days between Saturday 23 May and Friday 29 May and election day will be on Saturday 30 May.
There will be one early voting centre located at the Rapid Creek Business Village and one election day voting centre located at Nightcliff High School.
Postal vote applications are now open and close at 6pm on Thursday 28 May with overseas applications closing at 6pm on Tuesday 26 May. Electors unable to vote in person are encouraged to apply now for a postal vote. Learn more and apply.
