By-elections are required to fill casual vacancies in the following local government councils:
- MacDonnell Regional Council - Luritja Pintubi Ward (1 Councillor vacancy)
- West Arnhem Regional Council - Kakadu Ward (1 Councillor vacancy)
Voters and perspective candidates in these council wards are encouraged to check their enrolment before the electoral roll closes tomorrow at 5pm.
Nominations are now open and close at 12noon on Wednesday 8 April. Late nominations can not be accepted.
The declaration of candidates and draw for position on ballot paper will be held from 1pm on Wednesday 8 April. This is a public event and candidates, the media and members of the public are invited to attend in person at the NTEC office located in Darwin, or online.
