2023 Division of Arafura by-election

Following the passing of the Member for Arafura in late 2022, a by-election for the Legislative Assembly division of Arafura was conducted on Saturday 18 March.

The Electoral Act 2004 outlines the processes for conducting an election for the Northern Territory Parliament.

Under the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978, a by-election must be held if a vacancy occurs less than three years and six months after the first meeting of the assembly following the last preceding general election.

The declaration of results for this by-election was held at the NTEC Darwin office at 3:00 pm on 20 March 2023.

Manuel Brown was declared duly elected.
