25,000 Territorians have early voted

At the close of early voting today, figures reported to the NTEC showed 25,467 or 17.8 per cent of electors had cast their vote in the 2021 Local Government Elections at an early voting centre.

The figures do not include remote mobile voting, community voting centres or postal vote numbers.

With just two days of early voting to go NTEC Commissioner Iain Loganathan reminded electors that they could vote for any electorate at any of the early voting centres.

"On election day, Saturday, electors will be limited as to which voting centres they can vote at," Mr Loganathan said.

"Primarily electors will only be able to vote at centres located in their council area," Mr Loganathan said.

"If that is going to be difficult for you, I strongly recommend to electors to take advatage of the convenience provided by the early voting centres over the next two days."

The number of early votes cast at the close of voting 25 August by centre were: Alice Springs EVC: 3,569; Casuarina EVC 6,538; Coolalinga EVC 3,750; Darwin EVC 3,136; Katherine EVC 1,596; Palmerston EVC 2,928; Tennant Creek EVC 333 and; Yarawonga EVC 3,615.
