Legislative Assembly electorates

The Northern Territory (NT) is divided into 25 electorates with each electorate having one member of the NT’s Legislative Assembly to represent the people residing in them.

The boundaries of each electorate are reviewed every 4 years in the 18 month period prior to the general election for the Legislative Assembly, to see if any changes are required to ensure that the number of electors in each electorate is as near to equal as practicable. The 2023 NT Electoral Boundary Redistribution was finalised in December 2023 and the resulting changes (in this case, to 18 of the 25 divisions) come into effect at the 2024 Territory Election.
