Nominations for the 2025 Local Government Elections closed on Thursday 31 July 2025 at 12:00 pm. Late nominations cannot be accepted.

The countdown to voting in the 2025 Local Government Elections continues, with nominations for council positions officially open from today.

Applications for postal voting opened today and will close at 6.00pm on Thursday 21 August, overseas applications close 6.00pm on Tuesday 19 August.

With voting in the federal election now complete, attention turns to the Northern Territory 2025 Local Government Elections, with just 100 days until Territorians vote to elect their council representatives.

The NT Electoral Commission (NTEC) is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in electoral processes. Following the 2024 Territory Election, BDO Audit (NT) conducted an independent compliance review of financial disclosures on behalf of the NTEC.
